Concession Stand Makeover

During the winter of 2018-2019, the concession stand received a makeover to help clean the inside of the concession stand.  Members of JCLL along with Mark Wilson of Elite Concrete Designs in Shepherdstown, refurbished the concession stand by cleaning, painting, and installing new stainless steal counters.

While attempting to strip the floor of its existing paint, we found how difficult the process was to strip the concrete floor of the two layers of paint over a decade or two old.  After several attempts to remove the paint, a local business pointed us to Mark Wilson for help.

Mr. Wilson is the owner of Elite Concrete Designs in Shepherdstown and he specializes in applying epoxy coatings to concrete floors.  Mr. Wilson used his diamond grinder to help remove the existing paint from the floor and applied a new coat of epoxy paint to the floor.  Mr. Wilson helped JCLL save $450 on the diamond grinder rental and he did not charge JCLL for the labor required to apply the primer, epoxy, and poly urethane applications to the floor.  Mr. Wilson also threw in some gold flakes to give the maroon paint the JCLL touch.

A new coat of paint was applied to the walls and ceiling and all the items inside the concession stand were washed including the fryers, grill, and freezers.
